Q-Cells sets two new records - 18.5 percent module efficiency, 238 W module output

German company Q-Cells has announced that its crystalline 60-cell modules have set two new world records: the efficiency record of 18.5 percent for multi-crystalline modules and the module output of 238 watts based on 60 quasi-monocrystalline solar cells.
The calibration laboratory of the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Freiburg confirmed the module efficiency of 18.5 per cent in reference to the aperture area for a module with 60 multicrystalline solar cells. With this efficiency record, Q-Cells has broken its own world record of 18.1 percent set in the summer of 2011.
On top of that, Fraunhofer ISE confirmed a peak output of 283 watts for a quasi-monocrystalline module. Q-Cells therefore states that it has the most powerful module currently among competitively priced quasi-monocrystalline modules. Both records are based on the innovative Q.ANTUM cell concept of Q-Cells.
